The Board of Adjustments (BOA) shall hear and decide appeals where it is alleged that there is an error, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative officer in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance. Additionally, the BOA is charged with hearing requests for variances from the literal provisions of the zoning ordinance in instances where their strict enforcement would cause undue hardship because of circumstances unique to the individual property under consideration, and to grant such variances when it is demonstrated that such action will be in keeping with the spirit and intent of the zoning ordinance.
Agendas are available prior to the meetings. Minutes are available following approval.
The Board of Adjustment consists of seven members, each serving three year terms. They are appointed by the Mayor with approval of Council and are overseen by the City Building Official.
