Parks & Recreation

Since John A. Latsch donated nearly 2,200 acres to the City of Winona, which include Aghaming Park, Latsch Island, Prairie Island, and Gabrych Park to name a few, the City has embraced his spirit and love for the outdoor environment.

Winona is known for leading recreation trends within the state of Minnesota. Winona built the first outdoor zero depth entry aquatic center and are one of two communities to have an outdoor ice climbing attraction, and the Friendship Center is the only nationally accredited senior center in the state.

Winona Parks and Recreation Implements CivicRec® Recreation Management Solution

The new system offers citizens easier access to Winona Parks and Rec Activities and Registration

The City of Winona has collaborated with CivicRec to provide software for parks and recreation services. The new software will give citizens greater visibility into parks and recreation activities, memberships, sports leagues, and facility rentals, along with a more convenient online registration process.

Park Rec went live with the new CivicRec software on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. Information from those who currently have a membership or who have registered for programs within the past three years has been transferred from the old system to CivicRec and will only require a password reset. If the user’s membership is not currently active or the user did not have an email on file in the previous system, a new account will need to be created to begin using the upgraded service. After creating an account, guests will be able to easily register for programs, manage accounts, print and view receipts, pay balances, and more – all online from a desktop or mobile device.
