Sustainability Plan Contest

Create your hopes and dreams for a future sustainable Winona - and win $100!

We want to hear your hopes and dreams for a sustainable future - with a community-wide creative contest with prizes! We’re inviting residents to respond to:

“What are your hopes and dreams of a sustainable future for Winona?”

Below are just examples - your creative approach is up to you! You’re welcome to submit something new, or something you’ve already created. All submissions must be your own.

  • Video (ideal length - no more than 3 minutes)
  • Drawing or painting
  • Poem or spoken word (written or video-recorded)
  • Photo or set of photos
  • Song
  • Short story or essay (ideal length - 500-1,000 words)
  • Collage, sculpture, craft, etc.
  • Dance or movement (video-recorded)

The deadline is Monday, May 24 at the end of the day. You can submit via this link.

Members of the city’s Fine Arts Commission and the city’s Creative Laureate, Sarah Johnson, will serve as honorary judges and will select a winner in two categories: Youth (up to age 18) and adult. Each will receive a $100 gift card to the local business of their choice from Engage Winona!

We’ll showcase all submissions online and at in-person events this summer and fall.
