Around Winona you may have noticed a number of trees have green ribbons tied around them. These were placed by private residents (Friends of Winona Parks) on trees to bring awareness to the fact that the ash trees will likely be killed by the Emerald Ash borer sometime this decade. The group is raising funds to save the ash trees and plant new trees.
