Knopp Valley Park is located inside the Knopp Valley subdivision off of Highway 14. The park has a large playground, lots of green space, and a ball field. The basketball and tennis courts have recently been updated, and include pickleball striping and tennis courts. In the winter months, weather permitting, there is an ice-skating rink available for public use.
Knopp Valley Park is an outdoor ice rink. Lights run from dusk to 9:30 pm. Use is free. There is no staff.
General Safety & Skating Rules
Please follow these rules to ensure a safe and pleasant skating experience:
- Parents/guardians are responsible to watch and care for their own children.
- Public skating is available seven days a week from 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM.
- The rinks are not staffed or supervised; skate at your own risk. Helmets are recommended.
- Skates must be worn on the ice at all times. Shoes are not allowed on the ice.
- Stay off the rink if the surface is not completely frozen, during inclement weather, and when staff is clearing snow or resurfacing the ice.
- Zero tolerance on:
- Acts of Violence
- Bullying
- Profanity
- Verbal Threats
Patrons should keep in mind that this rink is a public resource and a place for fun and personal development for all ages and abilities; please help preserve a positive environment by honoring this Code of Conduct and reporting any violations to the City of Winona Department of Parks and Recreation.
Risk
Patrons using the outdoor City rinks do so at their own risk and voluntarily assume all risks associated. The City of Winona does not accept responsibility for related risks or injuries. Users are personally responsible for ensuring they are fit to participate in physical activities.
Anyone with a condition affecting his or her ability to participate must take appropriate safety precautions to ensure his or her own safety and is encouraged to be accompanied by an adult or guardian knowledgeable about their condition.
